This is your chance to meet some of the MOPS moms.  Hear about their families, hobbies and how they are surviving stinky diapers and mountains of laundry!

Let’s get to know Angela…

I am Angela and you would think that after being married to my husband, Steve for seven years before having three children I would have known that boys are a different species, but I didn’t. It was only after having my middle child, Finn (short for Finnian and yes, for the record, born and named before Julia Roberts’ “Phinneas”) did I realize that I truly knew nothing about the male race. But I am laughing and learning.

I have three children in total - Finn (7) is thankfully book ended by his two siblings of the much saner gender, Kaylei (9) and Claire (11/2). In all seriousness, though, I love boys too. Finn is my diet program. I burn more calories keeping up with him in a day than my regular Boot Campand Pilates classes combined. Who needs Weight Watchers?

Before I was a mom, I thought I was terribly interesting. I took myself really seriously in my twenties. I had a high-powered career as a Marketing Director for a real estate investment banking firm in Los Angeles, full of travel, perks and everything. Although the job looked a lot better on a resume than my current title as Mom, it still did not bring me the joy, laughter and lessons in patience that I receive on an hourly basis these days. Thanks to momhood, my character is much better honed for life skills that I can really use for the glory of God. We moved to Beaverton in 1997 so my husband could work at Nike and are loving Oregon, weather and all. In 1998 my career as mom began.

My favorite hobbies include skiing, mountaineering (until I almost died on Mount Rainier so I decided to shelve that hobby for now), basketball, golfing, and practically any competitive sport. If I had a weekend all to myself, I would probably go to Cabo with my family (yeah, getting away from them seems like a good idea until you do and then you miss them) and hang out by the pool. The sun is a stranger these days….
